2. MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING

PR reported that there was to be an event at International House on 8th June 1999 sponsored by Educational Computing for all south London schools to demonstrate their provision for schools.

PR reported that the Curriculum Support Group is due to meet at the July IT Co-ordinators conference. Roy Jarrad is also bringing some resources for discussion and consideration as part of the scheme.

PR briefed the group on the attached NGfL classroom consultants reports on each of the phase I schools

6. INTERNET/INTRANET STRATEGY

RC reported that the new Lambeth intranet/internet website was scheduled to go live in July ’99 and that there should be a direct link from Lambeth Connections front-page as soon as possible thereafter.

Access to the council's intranet for school's would have to be via password security profiles, options to be discussed further at the next intranet/internet strategy meeting (11th June 1999, 1:00pm Computer Centre). RC to report to next meeting.

6. STIMULATING CONTENT - SCHOOL WEBSITES

PR briefed the group on the attached paper - School websites project.

It was confirmed that NetSetGo would be working with Telferscot school and ITLE working with Holy Trinity school to produce their own school websites. PR to meet with Brixton On-Line to arrange similar project in another NGfL phase I school.

7. EDUCATION EXTRA

PR/RC briefed the group on the recent Education Extra meeting with schools at the Oval re initiatives associated with the specific Lambeth version of Extralink which would be set-up as part of the NGfL activity.

RC briefed the group about the event at the Oval for the opening celebrations for the Cricket World cup and the materials being provided for the website by schools that attended. To be posted on the site in June ’99.

8. SCHOOLS ELECTRONIC MAIL

Email addresses in all phase 1 schools should be set-up. PRo to send out questionnaire to all phase 1 schools to confirm standardisation with DfEE guidelines.

Directory to be published shortly, copy to be sent to Town Hall to form part of corporate directory

9. ESPRESSO PROJECT

PR reported that schools involved in the Espresso project were experiencing significant problems with their use of the systems. It was recommend that PR arrange visits to each of the sites with a representative from Espresso to confirm particular problems and agree a course of action for each school.
