This is the last update this year, decade, century, indeed - millennium. Next year we hope to be really moving forward especially with our ambitious projects such as CR.ed and S.W.O.P. Talking of S.W.O.P, things are moving along. Watch out for details appearing on this site early in the New Year.

In the meantime, have a good holiday. We all deserve it!

Lambeth CR.ed is now fully functional and is to be demonstrated at the ICT Conference on December 2. Chris Poole, from Microsoft UK,  will also be in attendance to talk about the Anytime Anywhere Learning project. Espresso Productions will be demonstrating Espresso in the Classroom ready for the January launch.

The Project Steering Group approved Lambeth S.W.O.P which will also be launched at the conference. More details will be appearing on this website very shortly.

The Project Steering Group (P.I.G) meets on Thursday 25th November. This meeting will be followed by the CR.ed pilot group. CR.ed is experiencing technical difficulties at the moment. Engineers are hard at work and it is hoped that all problems will be resolved by Thursday.

Our bid for NGfL finding for 2000/01 is being finalized and will be submitted today. Our development and action plan needed quite a lot of work to fall in line with new requirements from the DfEE. This means that schools will need to update their plans shortly. New templates will be available at the ICT Conference on December 2nd.

Yesterday saw the start of the Lambeth CR.ed project (see below). The site will be going live later today with a preview version leading to our formal launch on December 2nd.

The London Borough of Lambeth's innovative new website was launched just before half-term.

Our domain name has been changed from Brixton Connections to Lambeth Connections. Please update your favourites or bookmarks.

The Project Implementation Group met on Wednesday, the minutes will appear on our NGfL page as soon as they are available. The World Wide Web project got the go ahead and will launch as soon as some final details are worked out. The project will involve local businesses sponsoring schools. If any businesses are keen to help get us started, please get in touch.

Lambeth CR.ED is due to launch just after half-term with a group of our Education Action Zone schools coming in for an introduction on November 4th. The official launch will be at the ICT Co-ordinators' Conference on December 2nd.

The Project Implementation Group is meeting on Wednesday, October 6th. One of the topics for discussion is an innovative new project involving schools publishing content to the World Wide Web that we have been piloting with a couple of our schools.

Hilary Messeter of Tesco SchoolNet 2000 has been in touch about the current work she has been doing with Lambeth Schools. Hilary has worked with Hill Mead Primary last term and has been contacted by Lilian Baylis Secondary who are keen to start, along with Loughborough Infants and St. Jude's CE Primary. On Tuesday, she did a whole morning with St. Bernadette's RC Primary. The Librarian is also keen to publish written work being produced in conjunction with Brixton library so she has been in contact with St.  Martin-in-the-Fields CE Secondary, Stockwell Park Secondary and Charles Edward Brooke CE Secondary.

Following a meeting with Education Extra Initiatives, we will shortly be launching an exciting new initiative called Lambeth CR.ED. This has project has grown out of, and will replace, the Lambeth Extralink project.
